And Now for Something a Little Different

I know I’ve been away from posting updates and I apologize. Work at the day job’s been a little crazy but I haven’t been slacking entirely. I’ll have a pretty big announcement next week but in the meantime let’s take a look at our full-color version of VIper. (In case you missed her elsewhere on social media).

Then I’d like to talk about our third Iconic. who also happens to be our first non-human. Jacob delivered a working sketch today that’s rougher than the line drawings we usually premier but given the teensy-tiny art order he still just nailed it. I had no notes to send back but we’ll talk about all that further down.

Parkour and SimCelebrity Viper Sims

The trouble-maker herself Viper Sims practically leaps off the page in this illustration by Jacob Blackmon. I thought as we put together the first iconic team, we should have at least one actual punk. A lot of the genre fiction has its rebels but it also has a lot of seasoned veterans, rocker celebrities, and other experts at the top of their game. We thought it important to lean into those characters who are still scrabbling and struggling to make it. So we start with Sawyer and Viper, young up-and-coming siblings ready to challenge the establishment.

If you caught our actual play on the Cypher Unlimited you might expect our next iconic might be Connor “Bear” or Spencer Graves but I wanted to introduce someone entirely new who just missed the cut for that stream. Introducing Newport.

Newport Drone Support

Newport is the quintisential “guy in the chair.” Except for one small detail: he’s a dolphin in a pool. Not that anyone outside of his care staff is aware of that. Rumors circulate the streets that Newport might be a rogue AI, the Turing Authorities even openned a file on the mysterious Newport but so far have taken no actions to threaten his anonymity.

Newport’s primary interfaces with the world beyond his decomissioned midwestern aquarium are an aerodrone, an armored van, and a true to life dolphin matrix avatar that most everyone assumes is an affectation.
